Reflection
While doing this research project i learned a lot of interesting facts about J.R.R Tolkien that i never knew about, like that he had 4 kids, his wife was named edith brett, and I learned that he wrote many other books other than The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the hobbit. In this research project i feel like I covered all of the topics that i was assigned to do very well. I followed all of the instructions and I worked as hard as I could to make it the best it could be. Going beyond the rubric the one thing that i was most proud of in this project is the diary entry of Bilbo Baggins. I worked very hard on it and I feel like I did a good job getting in Bilbo's character quite well. Most of this research project wasn't all that stressful and frustrating but if I had to pick one thing that I had the most trouble on I would say that the timeline was quite time consuming, and finding all the information to put on it was hard. During the class time I didn't get that many things done on the project itself, but I did do a lot of research on his life in preparation for the final project. I did all of the final activities outside of the class room. Every day I worked on it at least for fifteen minutes and made sure everything i posted was correct. The most surprising things Iearned about this project was how in Tolkien's early age he went to war during world war one. The Lord of the Rings was based off of some of the things that he saw in the war and all of the things that he imagined during it. The resource that i found most useful was the interned websites that i could find on google. Last year our research project was a actual paper that we had to write down on word and use MLA format, this year its a blog and its something that i like much more than a traditional research paper.
